The Objective of ACHCO is to contribute to the preservation of Afghanistan's rich cultural heritage, with particular emphasis on historic monuments.

The organisation's strategy is to

• contribute to the work of the Ministry of Information and Culture and its other partners in documenting and conserving key historic monuments in Afghanistan,
• ensure that Afghan professionals and craftsmen have opportunities for training that might enable them to effectively participate in the conservation of historic monuments and other activities,
• collect and disseminate information related to the built heritage of Afghanistan.

ACHCO is an apolitical, non-profit, cultural organisation founded by Afghan professionals with experience in the conservation of historic monuments in Afghanistan, and was registered in Afghanistan in 2011.
